[10] In 1621 the town was besieged with the Bavarians led by Tilly and immediately after big bombardment the city was compelled to surrender as well as Saxons had to depart. The city was then punished for disobedience by in depth repressive actions. This case recurred once more in 1631 once the burghers authorized the Saxons to enter and conquered
